Measurement object

Any metamodel object on which an indicator rests: capability, service, offering, process, activity, entity or CI.

Any metamodel object on which an indicator rests: capability, service, offering, process, activity, entity or CI. The rule is that no floating metrics exist; every KPI declares which object and which attribute it quantifies.

Declaring it prevents the floating indicator. When a KPI does not say which object it rests on, nobody can answer who is accountable for it or what would have to change to move it.

A declared property of an entity or metamodel object. It is the unit on which measurement rests: every indicator quantifies an attribute of an identified measurement object.

Indicator families

The classification of indicators by the chain link they measure: strategic, capability, service, process and data.

KPI

A measure that quantifies a declared attribute of something in the architecture, and therefore verifies whether an objective was met.
