Business process
Also called: process · business processes
A coordination of activities, decisions, roles, data and rules aimed at producing a valuable outcome.
A coordination of activities, decisions, roles, data and rules aimed at producing a valuable outcome. It does not belong to one department even though it has an organizational owner: it materializes a service, orchestrates capabilities and resolves cross-functional coordination.
The definition deliberately includes data and rules. A process described only as a sequence of activities is half the process: the other half is the data it consumes, the rules it applies and the evidence it leaves.
