SIPOC

Also called: Suppliers Inputs Process Outputs Customers

A framework characterizing a process by its suppliers, inputs, process, outputs and customers.

A framework characterizing a process by its suppliers, inputs, process, outputs and customers. It is used in the process charter to make boundaries and counterparties explicit before modelling.

Its usefulness lies in bounding before detailing. The question that pays best is not what the process does but where it starts and where it ends — which is where disagreements between departments hide.
