Intent sheet

The first-phase design artifact that locates the process within the traceability chain, answering why it exists, what value it delivers and which capability it operationalizes. It precedes objective formulation and modelling.

It is the artefact that prevents starting from the diagram. It forces an answer to which capability the process operates and which service it delivers before anything is drawn — and those two questions discard a fair number of processes nobody could justify.
