Process orchestration products
Also called: process orchestration
Everest Group's category for platforms that coordinate end-to-end processes across the systems, people and documents they cross.
Process orchestration products is the name Everest Group uses for the market of platforms that coordinate end-to-end business processes across the systems, people, documents and increasingly the AI agents they cross. It is the same competitive space Gartner evaluates as business orchestration and automation technologies (BOAT) and QKS Group as iBPMS: the names differ by firm, the shortlists largely overlap.
The word that matters in the name is orchestration, as opposed to automation of isolated tasks: the category assumes the work spans multiple systems and actors, and evaluates whether one platform can own the end-to-end path — its states, its handoffs, its service levels and its evidence — rather than merely triggering steps in other tools. When comparing vendor claims across firms, translate the category name first; otherwise the same platform appears to compete in three markets when it competes in one.
