Interoperability

The ability to exchange data and coordinate operations with internal and external systems without requiring their replacement. TO-BE design must define which systems participate, what data are exchanged, which events trigger synchronization and what evidence remains.

Not requiring existing systems to be replaced is not a technical concession but the condition for the project to be viable. A transformation that begins by replacing the ecosystem rarely reaches the part where it transforms anything.
