ETL

Also called: Extract Transform Load

The mechanism that extracts, transforms and loads data between systems, integrating them into workflows.

The mechanism that extracts, transforms and loads data between systems, integrating them into workflows. It turns the platform into an orchestrator across people, processes and information systems.

The T is what decides whether it works. Extracting and loading is mechanical; transforming requires having agreed what each concept means in each source, and that is where an integration project turns into a semantics one.
