Governed exception

A deviation from the normal course that the design anticipated and resolved explicitly: resolve, compensate, escalate, reject or close with evidence.

A deviation from the normal course that the design anticipated and resolved explicitly: resolve, compensate, escalate, reject or close with evidence. It contrasts with the informal exception, which happens in reality but does not exist in the model.

A process with a normal path plus informal exceptions somebody resolves by email is not one process: it is a process and a blind spot. The blind spot is where the breaches nobody sees coming accumulate.
