Base measure

The direct quantification of an attribute using a defined measurement method and scale.

The direct quantification of an attribute using a defined measurement method and scale. It is the most elementary level of the measurement chain and the unit combined to produce derived measures.

It is the level at which a figure becomes arguable or not. A declared measurement method and scale are what stop two departments obtaining different numbers while apparently measuring the same thing.

A declared property of an entity or metamodel object. It is the unit on which measurement rests: every indicator quantifies an attribute of an identified measurement object.

Derived measure

The result of combining two or more base measures through a formula, such as a compliance percentage or an average cycle time.

KPI

A measure that quantifies a declared attribute of something in the architecture, and therefore verifies whether an objective was met.
